The Interrupted Ceremony

Inside the grand hall, the wedding march began to play softly from a string quartet positioned near the marble staircase. Guests turned in their seats, smiling as Jessica prepared to walk down the central aisle toward David. The decor was immaculate, featuring thousands of white roses, silver runners, and sparkling crystal bowls filled with pristine floating candles. Jessica held her bouquet tight, her chest heaving with high tension as she tried to erase the scene from the dressing room from her mind.

Just as the minister stepped forward to open the official service, the massive double oak doors at the back of the room were thrown wide open. The loud crash against the mahogany frames made every single guest freeze in their seats. The music stopped instantly in a violent screech of violin strings. Standing in the doorway was Sarah, wrapped in the legal counsel's black coat, flanked by Robert Vance and two uniformed sheriff deputies.

Gasps echoed across the grand hall as people recognized Sarah and saw the visible damage to her formal clothes beneath the open coat. Jessica's mother stood up from the front row, her face turning pale as paper. David spun around at the altar, his face contorting into deep annoyance as he stepped toward the aisle.

David: What is the meaning of this intrusion?

Robert: This wedding ceremony is taking place on contested property under active police review.

Jessica: Get them out of here! This is my house!

Robert: Actually, Jessica, this house belongs entirely to your sister's living trust.

A murmur swept through the rows of high-society guests like wildfire. Jessica dropped her silk bouquet, the white petals scattering across the aisle carpet. She took three aggressive steps forward, her long veil catching on the wooden chairs as she stared down the legal team. The two deputies moved into position along the sides of the main aisle, ensuring no one moved to block the attorney as he walked straight toward the front altar.

Robert opened his briefcase with a sharp metallic snap, pulling out a set of stamped court orders bearing the official state seal. He held them up so the guests in the front rows could clearly read the top pages. The atmosphere in the room shifted from celebratory luxury to intense legal confrontation in a matter of seconds.

Robert: You forged your father's signature on the deed transfer three weeks ago.

Jessica: That is an absolute lie!

Robert: We have the forensic handwriting audit right here, alongside the video recording from his room.
