Without saying a single word, Richard raised his right hand and delivered a hard slap directly across Elena's face. The sharp sound echoed through the high mansion like a gunshot, causing Elena to scream out in shock. Before she could regain her balance, he struck her face again, and then a third time in rapid succession. Elena recoiled violently against the iron railing, clutching her red cheek while heavy tears streamed down her expensive makeup.
Elena: Richard, please! Listen to me!
Richard: Shut your mouth! You tried to hurt my innocent child!
Elena: I was scared! I did not mean to let him slip!
Richard: Get out of my house immediately! Call 911 right now, Sarah!
Sarah quickly pulled her personal phone from her apron pocket while holding baby Leo safely against her shoulder. Her fingers trembled as she dialed the three emergency numbers, reporting the violent incident to the city police dispatcher. Upstairs, Richard pointed his shaking finger straight at Elena's face, his eyes cold and filled with utter disgust for the woman he married. He grabbed her silk purse from the nearby hallway table and threw it down the stairs toward the marble floor.
Richard: You will not take a single thing from this estate. You are finished here.
Elena: You cannot throw me out! I am your wife, I have rights to this estate!
Richard: My lawyers will tear your prenuptial agreement to pieces before the sun sets today.
Elena sobbed loudly, stumbling down the stairs as Richard stood over her like a towering wall of protection. She grabbed her purse off the cold marble floor and glared at Sarah, who stepped back near the kitchen door to keep the baby safe. The sound of police sirens began to echo in the distance, growing louder as the patrol cars turned into the long driveway. Elena realized her time had run out, and her face turned pale with total ruin.
Two police officers pushed through the front doors, their dark uniforms standing out against the bright, high-key lighting of the house. They immediately assessed the scene, seeing the crying woman by the door and the owner pointing down from the staircase. Richard walked down the steps with steady, deliberate movements, standing beside Sarah to show his full support for the faithful maid. He turned to the lead officer and pointed directly at Elena.
Richard: Officer, arrest this woman for attempted murder of my infant son.
Officer Davis: Ma'am, place your hands behind your back right now.
Elena: This is a mistake! My husband is lying to you!
The officer grabbed Elena's wrists and clicked the cold steel handcuffs around her wrists before she could resist any further. They led her out the front doors into the bright morning sunlight, her cries fading as the police car door slammed shut. The house fell quiet once again, leaving Richard standing beside Sarah in the high-ceilinged foyer. He looked down at his baby boy, who was now fast asleep in the maid's gentle arms.
